Saradha Scam: What CBI will ask Mamata Banerjee's aide Mukul Roy?

Kolkata, Jan 12: Why did TMC leader Mukul Roy meet Sudipta Sen just before the latter made an attempt to flee? This is a primary question that will be posed before Roy who was issued summons by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Saradha scam.

CBI officials told Oneindia that Mamata Banerjee's close aide Roy's name cropped up during the questioning of various accused in the scam. Ghosh in particular has accused the high and mighty in the TMC of trying to hush up the scam.

CBI officials said what they had managed to gather is that the meeting Roy had with Sen had given the latter time to escape. It is alleged that Roy had delayed informing the police about Sen and this delayed response gave him time to leave West Bengal in the first place.

How much did Roy know?

CBI officials would also find out from Roy the extent of his knowledge of the scam. In addition to this the policy decision by the TMC government to hand out money to duped investors using public money is also something that the CBI would want to know.

Ghosh had accused the West Bengal Chief Minister of meeting with Sen at public gatherings and now Roy will need to answer what relation did Sen share with the government of the state.
