AAP's Sanjay Singh Claims New NDA Govt to Collapse Within a Year
Senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh made a bold prediction on Sunday, stating that the newly formed government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership is expected to collapse within a year. This statement came shortly after Modi was sworn in for a third term, leading a 72-member Union Council of Ministers. The ceremony, which took place at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, saw the inclusion of senior BJP leaders such as Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, and S Jaishankar, all of whom were part of the Modi 2.0 cabinet.

During a press conference at the Circuit House, Singh expressed skepticism about the longevity of the new Central government, suggesting it would last only six months to a year. He referenced past instances where NDA governments had short tenures—one lasting just 13 days and another collapsing within 13 months—to support his claim that the current government might meet a similar fate.
Singh's criticism did not stop at predicting the government's collapse. He also accused Prime Minister Modi of not meeting the expectations of NDA constituents and continuing with an attitude aimed at breaking political parties. "He is not going to do things as per the expectations of the NDA constituents from him," Singh remarked, highlighting concerns over political stability and unity within the alliance.
The AAP leader issued a warning to parties like the TDP and JDU, advising them to appoint their own Speaker to safeguard against potential defections. Singh's comments underscored apprehensions about internal cohesion within the NDA and raised questions about the future dynamics of power within the coalition.
The formation of Modi's third government has been marked by an emphasis on continuity, youth, and experience, along with rewarding partners in the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). However, Singh's statements reflect a critical view of the government's prospects, suggesting that despite its composition, challenges lie ahead that could threaten its stability and effectiveness.
This development comes at a time when political alliances and party loyalty are increasingly under scrutiny in India's dynamic political landscape. The AAP leader's predictions and criticisms highlight ongoing debates about governance, leadership styles, and the complexities of coalition politics in the country.
