In a press conference held at Ruppis resort in Bengaluru, Upendra announced the launch of a public platform to bring together all the like-minded people to discuss and resolve systemic problems that previal in the society. Upendra said that the state of current politics is depending on money, caste and muscle power which needs to be wiped out. The elected representatives should work honestly in using tax payer's money for the welfare of the people. The change should start from the grass root level like Swachh Bharat, there is need to have Swachh government for clean governance.
He stressed that he would start a platform of common people without taking donations because ''If I borrow money for the political parties, I have to reciprocate while in power. So, I want to build a party without taking any financial support."
In his own style, Upendra added that we don't need 'Raajakeeya' we need 'Prajaakeeya' where people are ultimate. Expressing his interest in contesting elections, Upendra further added that in the coming days the name of the political party and symbol would be announced by taking the suggestion of the public.
He said, "I will not comment on the symbol of the party or the party name for now because we need to get the approval of Election Commission. As of now, I have decided to launch a platform for like-minded people.
Interestingly, many of his films deal with broad political themes with flamboyant dialogues and a touch of the bizarre. In one of his directorial venture Super, he becomes the Chief Minister of Karnataka.
