Sakshi Murder Case: Knife Used By Accused Sahil Recovered By Delhi Police

The accused, Sahil, had purchased the knife approximately 15 days ago from Haridwar and discarded it near Rithala Metro Station after the incident. Sahil initially misled the investigators by providing conflicting statements, but later admitted to buying the knife, according to a police officer.

According to reports, the police have taken possession of Sahil's mobile phone and are investigating his Instagram conversations with the deceased victim. Additionally, call detail records of Sahil's phone have been retrieved to facilitate a thorough investigation.

Meanwhile, a senior police officer stated that the accused's custody was extended by three days following a court order on Thursday. During further questioning, Sahil provided crucial information leading to the recovery of the weapon used in the offense.

Given Sahil's frequent changes in statements, he was subjected to intense cross-questioning. The statements of the victim's three friends, Bhawna, Ajay (alias Jhabru), and Neetu, were also individually examined, and their testimonies corroborated the events.

The brutal incident took place on May 28 when Sakshi (16) was brutally stabbed over 20 times and bludgeoned to death with a cement slab, allegedly by Sahil. The victim's body bore 34 injury marks, and her skull was severely damaged in the attack. The following day, Sahil was apprehended by the authorities in Bulandshahar, Uttar Pradesh, in connection with the heinous incident.

According to the police, Sahil had informed that he discarded the knife used in the crime in the bushes near Rithala.

During the interrogation, Sahil revealed that his motive behind the attack stemmed from his anger towards Sakshi, who had rejected him in front of her friends and refused to reconcile. The police stated that the two had been involved in a deteriorating relationship.

As the investigation unfolded, it became evident that no accomplices were involved in the crime. Sahil confessed to acting alone in carrying out the act, as confirmed by the police.
