Sakshi Malik Vs WFI: Olympian Asks How Can Suspended Body Conduct Nationals? Urges Inquiry
Olympian Sakshi Malik, who had staged a protest with star wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat against former Wrestling Federation Of India (WFI) Chief Brij Bhushan Singh Saran for months, has now come up with another cry foul.
Brij Bhushan Singh Saran was replaced by his close aide Sanjay Singh after WFI went under fresh elections. However, the newly elected body was also suspended by the Ministry of Sports citing misconduct.

In her recent allegation, Sakshi Malik asked how can a suspended federation conduct the National championship. she also alleged that the suspended body is distributing fake certificates as they are not eligible and credible to award any wrestler.
Taking it to social media, Shakshi Malik shared a photo of the allegedly fake certificate that was awarded to a wrestler for winning in a particular weight category.
She further said that an ad-hoc committee appointed by the Indian Olympics Association had scheduled the national championship for February in Jaipur, then how can the Sanjay Singh-led body conduct the nationals in Pune?
Through her social media post, Sakshi Malik urged Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Thakur, to take cognizance of the matter saying the future of thousands of young wrestlers is at stake.
"The Government of India had suspended the activities of Brij Bhushan's associate Sanjay Singh, yet Sanjay Singh is running the National Wrestling Championship as per his wish and is distributing fake certificates to the players, which is illegal. The Wrestling National Championship organized by the Sports Ministry is to be held in Jaipur, but before that, to prove his dominance over wrestling, Sanjay Singh is illegally signing and distributing certificates of different National Championships," reads Sakshee Malik's post on X, in Hindi along with a picture of an alleged fake certificate.
