Sad state of building collapses in Mumbai: A timeline
A six-storeyed building collapsed in south Mumbai's Bhendi Bazaar area on Thursday, killing at least fifteen people. The number of people trapped in the building's debris is yet to be ascertained but initial reports suggest as many as 50 could be trapped.

The building in Bhendi Bazaar collapsed two days after Mumbai was lashed by its heaviest rain in 12 years on Tuesday. It's not clear if the heavy rains that inundated Mumbai this week had weakened the building. However, the latest collapse has come shocking to the city that is still reeling from the aftershocks of Tuesday's deluge.

August 31, 2017
Around fifteen person have been killed and fifteen including 2 fire officers injured after a six-storey residential building collapsed on Thursday near JJ Junction in Pakmodia street, a narrow lane in the busy Bhendi Bazaar area of South Mumbai.
It is learnt that the building collapse took place at around 08:30 AM. Twelve fire tenders have been rushed to the spot. An National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) team has moved to the building collapse site in Bhindi Bazar.
August 26, 2017
Four persons died while two sustained injuries after three slabs of a partly demolished seven-storeyed building collapsed in Chandivali on August 26.
Officials from the Mumbai fire brigade said that Krishnan Bussiness park building was vacated and the incident occurred when demolition work was underway.
July 25, 2017
At least 17 persons, including a 11 women and three-month old baby, were killed when a four-storied residential building crashed in Ghatkopar suburb of Mumbai on July 25 morning.
Another 19 persons were rescued from the debris of the crashed Sai Darshan building in Damodar Park.
Local Shiv Sena leader Sunil Ramesh Shitap was today arrested after the collapse was linked to renovation work being carried out in the nursing home on ground floor owned by him.
December 15, 2016
Three people were killed and 12 injured in a building collapse in the Mankhurd suburb of Mumbai on December 15. Reports said that a cylinder explosion led to the collapse of three single-storeyed structures in one of the hutments in Maharashtra Nagar slum in Mankhurd.

Six children died after a five-storey building collapsed in Mumbai's Bandra East on October 13. The incident took place as the wall of a five-storied building collapsed in the slums of Behrampada.
