Russian trade data shows China violating US-led sanctions
A US-based journal accuses the Chinese establishment of violating the US-led sanctions placed by Western countries on Russia as it is still exporting military goods that are being used in Ukraine.
New Delhi, Feb 6: China has been utilizing the Ukrainian crisis to its advantage. However, now the latest data released by a Washington DC-based journal 'C4ADS' shows that the country has taken the US-led sanctions for granted. The journal reports that China has violated the sanction by exporting the tens of thousands of shipments of goods to service Russia's military.
Some of these goods were disguised to appear like they were to be used for civilian purposes. The report has, however, made it clear that some of these goods had multiple purposes. Therefore, they have a higher propensity to be used for military purposes by the Russian establishment that is facing economic sanctions from the Western countries.

The journal accuses the Chinese establishment of violating the US-led sanctions placed by Western countries on Russia as it is still exporting military goods that are being used in Ukraine. To attest the claim, the journal has quoted Russian trade data reported by the Wall Street Journal which shows that the bilateral trade has gone significantly up ever since the Ukraine war started last year.
China providing military aid to Russia?
In its report, Forbes has also cited the findings from C4ADS to establish the fact that the China-Russia trade has gone up recently, this signifies that Russia is able to sidestep the economic sanctions imposed on it by the Western allies. The report claims that to pressurize Russia, the Western countries used sanctions as a tool but that does not seem to be working.

Attesting to the report from C4ADS one of their analysts vouched that despite international scrutiny and sanctions protocols, truth could be inferred from the global trade data. The global trade, according to the journal, is proof enough to put Chinese companies in dock as several of the Chinese State-owned defence companies are doing business with Russia.
The data according to the Journal also indicates the fact that the Chinese government owned defence manufacturers are still continuing military-applicable parts supply to defence companies in Russia that have already been put under restrictions. Placing blame on China, the Journal reports that some of the equipment has been used in the Ukraine war by Russia.
The journal reports that apart from navigation equipment and parts to fighter jets to Russia, Chinese state owned defence companies have also sold exclusive military tech equipment that are being used in the ongoing war in Ukraine. Especially after the 'Balloon' episode, the report is likely to further deteriorate bilateral relations between the USA and China.
