Odisha Chief Minister Majhi Draws Inspiration from RSS to Serve as Chief Servant of the People

Odisha's Chief Minister, Mohan Charan Majhi, expressed that the RSS has motivated him to serve as the chief servant of the people rather than as a chief minister. Speaking at the annual event of the RSS-affiliated Utkal Bipanna Sahayata Samiti (UBSS), Majhi highlighted the organisation's efforts in aiding those affected by disasters.

RSS Influence on Leadership

Majhi emphasised that his dedication and sensitivity towards society stem from the Sangh's ideology. "I get the inspiration from the Sangh RSS to work as the chief servant of the people, not as the chief minister. I get the quality of dedication and sensitivity towards society from the ideology of the Sangh," he stated.

The UBSS has consistently supported people during natural disasters and emergencies. Over its 43-year journey, it has become a leading organisation in assisting the poor and helpless. Majhi praised its role in providing essential services across Odisha.

UBSS's Role in Healthcare Support

Majhi noted that UBSS members assist individuals who travel to Cuttack and Bhubaneswar for treatment of complex illnesses. This support is crucial for many seeking medical care in these cities.

Reflecting on past events, Majhi recalled his involvement with UBSS during the 1999 cyclone relief efforts in Keojhar's Anandapur. He mentioned that the volunteers' hard work, sacrifice, tolerance, and service were recognised nationally during this period.

"During the 1999 cyclone, the hard work, sacrifice, tolerance and service of the volunteers of the UBSS were appreciated at the national level," he said. His personal engagement in relief activities underscored his commitment to serving those in need.

The UBSS has established itself as a vital force in disaster response and healthcare support throughout Odisha. Its ongoing efforts continue to make a significant impact on communities across the state.
