RSS Chief Bats For OTT Regulation, Calls Content "Disgusting And Harmful"

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat has voiced strong concerns against the content on OTT platforms, describing it as "disgusting."

During his Vijayadashami address in Nagpur on October 12, he touched upon various issues, including the RG Kar hospital rape and murder case.

RSS Chief Urges OTT Regulation Calls Content Disgusting and Harmful

As RSS celebrates its 99th foundation day, Bhagwat expressed concern over the vulgarity on some OTT platforms. He believes this is eroding cultural values and calls for legal regulations to curb their influence on youth. The negative impact on younger generations was a key point in his speech.

The RSS tweeted, "There is little to no control over OTT platforms on what is being shown. Lot of content is so disgusting that even mentioning it would be a violation of decency. There is an urgent need of laws over the perverted visual content reaching our homes esp children."

Bhagwat condemned violence against Hindus in neighbouring countries. He warned that as long as radical violence persists, not only Hindus but all minorities remain at risk. He urged global Hindu support and intervention from India's government.

He reflected on recent events in Bangladesh, stating that while immediate reasons exist, the core issue remains repeated atrocities against Hindus. "For the first time, Hindus united to protect themselves," he noted.

The RSS chief highlighted a narrative in Bangladesh viewing India as a threat. He mentioned discussions about siding with Pakistan due to its nuclear capabilities. Bhagwat criticised this stance from a country that received India's support during its formation.

"We all know which countries are pushing such discussions," Bhagwat remarked. He suggested these narratives aim to destabilise India by creating similar conditions within its borders.

Bhagwat also addressed threats from "Deep State," "Wokeism," and "Cultural Marxists" to cultural traditions. He claimed these groups aim to destroy values and traditions by influencing societal institutions like education and media.

He explained how identity-based groups are motivated to separate based on perceived grievances. This creates discontent and aggression against societal systems, leading to direct conflicts and an atmosphere of fear and anarchy.

Bhagwat concluded by emphasising unity and strength as essential for protection against atrocities. He stressed that weakness invites danger and urged communities to remain united and empowered wherever they are.
