Rozgar Mela In India: PM Modi Issues Appointment Letters To Over 51,000 Youth

Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed out more than 51,000 appointment letters on 19 October via video conference, marking the 19th Rozgar Mela recruitment drive. The employment fair took place at 47 centres nationwide, and focused on speeding up government hiring while opening job opportunities for young candidates across India.

According to officials, new recruits will join a wide range of central government ministries and departments. These include railways, home affairs, health and family welfare, higher education and financial services, along with several other key offices and organisations that support day-to-day governance and public services.

Government data shows that nearly 12 lakh appointment letters have been issued so far through 18 Rozgar Melas held across the country since the initiative started. The programme aims to make recruitment in central departments quicker and more structured, while also expanding formal employment options for youth in different regions.

During the latest Rozgar Mela event, Narendra Modi addressed the new appointees and highlighted the government’s stress on employment generation and youth empowerment. Officials said recruits were selected from many states and will soon take up their posts in various government offices, reflecting a broad intake across geographic and social backgrounds.

Before the programme, Narendra Modi underlined the broader goal behind the Rozgar Mela recruitment drive. The Prime Minister stated that the Centre intends to strengthen the future of young people by holding regular employment fairs and ensuring that recruitment to government posts continues without long delays.

Sharing details on X in Hindi, Narendra Modi posted: "Our commitment to the bright future and empowerment of our young colleagues across the country remains unwavering. In this direction, tomorrow at 11 am, I will participate in another employment fair through videoconferencing, where I will have the privilege of handing over appointment letters to the youth for various government departments."

The latest Rozgar Mela event adds another set of recruits to central government services, building on earlier rounds that distributed nearly 12 lakh appointment letters. With appointments spanning several ministries and 47 locations, the initiative continues to link youth with public sector jobs and streamline the official recruitment process.
