R K Nagar bypoll: Slipper hurled at AIADMK Amma faction's C R Saraswati

The Sasikala Natarajan supporter accused Panneerselvam camp supporters of hurling slippers, stones at her during an election rally.

Slippers and stones were hurled at C R Saraswati, the spokesperson of AIADMK Amma while campaigning at R K Nagar constituency. A video shot by people who had gathered at the rally shows footwear being hurled at Saraswati. At the end of the video, Saraswati is seen chiding the crowd for its behaviour.

Saraswati claimed that Panneerselvam camp was also campaigning in the same locality despite party's deputy general secretary TTV Dinakaran's camp receiving permission to campaign. "We were waiting for Panneerselvam camp to finish their campaign and move forward so that we could begin ours. We had taken permission to address a rally in the locality but they refused to allow us near the venue. Suddenly slippers and stones were being hurled at us. It was a market area and fruits and whatever they could find, they were hurling at us," Saraswati claimed.
