Rich tributes paid to Macchil martyrs
Thousands of people gathered here to pay their tributes to three soldiers, who were killed by Pakistani Border Action Team in the Macchil sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
New Delhi, Nov 24: Thousands of people gathered here to pay tributes to three soldiers, who were killed by Pakistani Border Action Team in the Macchil sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
The sodiers martyred were Gunner Manoj K Kushwah, Riflemen Prabhu Singh and Shashank K Singh. In what can be called as a cowardly and ghastly act, the body of Prabhu Singh was found mutilated.

While Prabhu Singh belonged to Khirjankhas village in Rajasthan's Jodhpur district, Manoj K Kushwah and Shashank K Singh hailed from Uttar Pradesh's Gazipur district.
Following the incident, the Indian Army promised a 'heavy retribution' and conducted a retaliatory attack with heavy artillery and mortar fire, which is said to have inflicted heavy damage on Pakistani Army infrastructure in Poonch, Rajouri, Kel and Machhal sectors.

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar condemned the dastardly act and saluted the martyrs for their supreme sacrifice.

Last week, Pakistan had acknowledged that seven of its soldiers were killed in cross-border firing by Indian troops in the Bhimber sector of the LoC.
