Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in a grand 3-km roadshow in Ranchi, the capital of poll-bound Jharkhand, on Sunday. Thousands of enthusiastic supporters lined both sides of the road, eager to catch a glimpse of the charismatic leader. Riding atop a saffron-hued open vehicle adorned with flowers and his cutouts, PM Modi waved at the crowd, sparking chants of "Modi Zindabad."

From children to adults, people eagerly recorded the electrifying moments on their mobile phones. The festive atmosphere was amplified by Jharkhand's traditional musicians and dancers, who showcased the state's rich cultural heritage. This visit is seen as a crucial part of the BJP's campaign efforts in Jharkhand, aimed at fortifying its appeal to the electorate.
Performers dressed in vibrant traditional attire added a lively beat to the event. Tribal groups danced along the streets, accompanied by brass bands playing traditional musical instruments, while supporters proudly waved BJP flags.

A Tale of Cultural Pride from Chandra Rauta Jara Village
In an exclusive interview with OneIndia, performers from Chandra Rauta Jara village, located 18 km from Ranchi, shared their journey of embracing music and dance. Driven by their passion for Jharkhand's vibrant culture, they regularly practice and perform at local events across the state, aiming to showcase their talent on platforms like Facebook and YouTube. Despite their dedication and talent, the group has yet to gain significant opportunities beyond Jharkhand, having primarily performed in towns such as Latehar, Jamshedpur, Kutti, and Gunla.

Traditional Learning and the Hope for Greater Recognition
One of the group members, Chotelal Minj, told OneIndia that they learn music through listening-a method rooted in tradition. The group, which started performing just two months ago, is passionate about preserving and promoting Jharkhand's cultural heritage. Minj also expressed hope that the new government, regardless of the election outcome, would pay more attention to supporting traditional artists in the state.

The government has encouraged these young artists, viewing them as cultural ambassadors. For the St Smart Group, increased support could mean opportunities to perform beyond local venues, helping to share Jharkhand's traditions with a broader audience. Through their dedication to music and dance, the group remains committed to keeping the state's cultural spirit alive.
