Death Toll Hits 7 in Rewari Factory Boiler Blast Incident

In a tragic update from Haryana's Rewari, the death toll from last week's boiler explosion at a spare parts manufacturing facility has climbed to seven. This follows the demise of an injured worker, originally from Uttar Pradesh, who succumbed to his injuries at PGIMS Hospital in Rohtak on Thursday. Inspector Jagdish Chand of Rewari police confirmed the latest fatality, highlighting the severity of the incident that has now claimed seven lives.

Rewari Blast Toll Reaches 7

The explosion, which occurred in the Dharuhera industrial area on March 16, initially left 40 workers injured. The aftermath saw a significant emergency response, with victims receiving medical attention across several facilities. According to Inspector Chand, while six individuals have been discharged, 11 remain in the trauma centre in Rewari. Additionally, two are under care at Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital, with others continuing their recovery at PGIMS, Rohtak.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini had visited the injured at PGIMS Hospital on Wednesday. During his visit, he disclosed that a magisterial investigation into the blast had already been commissioned. Saini assured that the government would take decisive action based on the findings of this probe.

In response to the tragedy, police action was swift. An FIR was lodged on Sunday against the contractor and others implicated in the incident. This legal move was initiated following a complaint by Raj Kumar, a labourer from Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district, shedding light on the potential negligence leading to the catastrophic event.

The community and families affected by this disaster are now awaiting the outcomes of both the ongoing medical treatments for the injured and the magisterial investigation promised by Chief Minister Saini. The latter is expected to uncover the circumstances that led to such a devastating incident and determine accountability.
