In a shocking incident, a boiler blast at a spare parts manufacturing facility in Haryana's Rewari left 40 workers injured on Saturday. Following the incident, the police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.

FIR Registered, Probe Underway
An FIR was registered at Dharuhera police station on Sunday based on a complaint filed by Raj Kumar, a laborer from Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district. The complaint alleges negligence on the part of the contractor and other officials, who failed to address previous incidents involving the boiler dust collector.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has ordered a probe under a subdivisional magistrate to ascertain the cause of the blast and determine responsibility.
Multiple Injuries, Hospitalization
Around 40 workers sustained burn injuries in the blast. Nineteen seriously injured workers have been admitted to PGIMS-Rohtak, while 10 are receiving treatment at a trauma center in Rewari. Others are being treated in private hospitals in Rewari and Dharuhera.
Previous Incidents Ignored
According to Raj Kumar's complaint, there had been two previous blasts in the dust collector, but no injuries were reported. Despite these incidents, the contractor and officials failed to take necessary precautions and ensure proper maintenance of the boiler unit.
Legal Action Initiated
Following the complaint, an FIR was registered against the contractor and others under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including negligent conduct with respect to machinery, causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others, and acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention.
Statements from Injured Workers
Injured factory worker Manoj Kumar shared with reporters that the blast occurred while several employees were on duty. A doctor at a district hospital confirmed that preliminary treatment was provided to the injured, and those with severe burn injuries were transferred to PGIMS-Rohtak.
The Rewari boiler blast incident has raised serious concerns about workplace safety and maintenance practices. The police investigation and probe ordered by the Chief Minister are crucial steps towards ensuring accountability and preventing such incidents in the future. The well-being and safety of workers must be prioritized to avoid similar tragedies.
