Retired Judge's Home Robbed: Cash, Laptop, And Taps Taken, Police Begin Probe After Social Media Tip
In a shocking incident in Lucknow's Indiranagar area, a retired judge's residence was targeted by thieves, leading to the loss of numerous valuables including unconventional items like taps and gas cylinders.
The burglary occurred while Judge AK Tiwari and his family were away in Varanasi for a funeral, leaving their home vulnerable. The unsettling discovery was made upon their return.

The Tiwari family, residing in Sector 21 of Indiranagar, had travelled to Varanasi following the death of Judge Tiwari's nephew. During their absence, the thieves seized the opportunity to break into their unguarded home. It was Judge Tiwari's son, Anupam Tiwari, an advocate, who first stumbled upon the scene of the crime. He returned to Lucknow on Monday, only to find their home's main gate tampered with and the internal security compromised.
Upon entering the house around 3 pm, Anupam discovered that the almirah had been forcefully opened, and various items were missing. The stolen goods included Rs 10,000 in cash, a valuable wristwatch, and several household items ranging from a gas cylinder to metal objects from the prayer room. Even the taps were not spared, underscoring the thoroughness of the theft.
The immediate response involved notifying the police, who have since launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident. With the aid of CCTV footage, authorities are determined to track down the perpetrators and recover the stolen belongings. Anindya Vikram Singh, the ACP of Indiranagar, confirmed that an FIR has been filed, and the police are meticulously working through the evidence to solve the case.
As the investigation progresses, the community is reminded of the importance of securing their homes, especially when away for extended periods. The theft at Judge Tiwari's house serves as a stark reminder of the risks homeowners face and the lengths to which thieves will go to pilfer valuables, no matter how insignificant they may seem.
In conclusion, the burglary at the residence of a retired judge in Indiranagar not only resulted in the loss of cash and valuables but also raised concerns about residential security in the area. The police's ongoing efforts to apprehend the culprits and prevent future incidents are closely watched by the community, hoping for a swift resolution to this unsettling crime.
