Jammu Municipal Corporation Urges Residents to Stay Indoors Amid Severe Weather Forecast
The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has issued a high alert due to predictions of intense rainfall and strong winds. Residents are urged to remain indoors during severe weather conditions and report any emergencies. "There should be no loss of life or property during this period," stated JMC Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav in an advisory released on Friday night.

Emergency Measures and Helplines
Special instructions have been given to transport officers for the swift removal of fallen trees, poles, and debris from roads to prevent accidents. The alert is focused on zones 1, 2, and 3, where the JMC is actively monitoring the situation to ensure public safety. Helpline numbers 94697 48042 and 94193 72824 have been provided for emergency assistance.
Residents are encouraged to report emergencies or damage using these helplines. The civic body is committed to ensuring no loss of life or property occurs during this period. Separate JMC teams are surveying affected areas and working diligently to clear roads and lanes of fallen trees and damaged infrastructure.
Coordination with Local Authorities
The Corporation assures citizens of its dedication to their safety and urges cooperation with local authorities. Similarly, deputy commissioners across various districts in the Jammu region have issued advisories. These efforts are part of a coordinated response to manage the impact of the severe weather conditions effectively.
The JMC's proactive measures aim to mitigate risks associated with the forecasted storm. By staying informed and following official guidance, residents can help ensure their safety during this challenging time.
