Republic Day 2018: Tableaux on Rajpath display glimpses of dynamic India

This year India has invited the Asean heads of state since the south-east Asian bloc and India complete 50 years of formation in 2017. The year also marked 25 years of India's partnership

There will be a total of 23 tableaus in the Republic Day parade on Firday, out of which 14 will represent different states and Union Territories. This year, for the first time, a tableau of All India Radio (AIR) will lead a series of 23 tableaus during the Parade. It will feature Prime Minister Narendra Modi's monthly address, "Mann Ki Baat". Alo, Income Tax department will display its tableau. The Ministry of External Affairs will have two tableaux representing India's relationship with ASEAN countries.

After 20 years, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police or the ITBP will return with its float in the Republic Day parade showing troops patrolling the China border on their newly-inducted snow scooters. The ITBP is the only paramilitary or border guarding forces that will have a tableau in the parade.
