Reel to Real Mahabharat: 'Draupadi' Roopa Ganguly joins BJP
Kolkata, Jan 7: Another star joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Roopa Ganguly joined the party in West Bengal on Wednesday, Jan 7.
Roopa Ganguly, who impressed everyone with her performance as "Draupadi" in mega serial of late 80s Mahabharat, joined the party in the presence of Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. The minister reached Kolkata on Wednesday, Jan 7 where he attended Bengal Global Summit and a rally organised by the BJP.
Roopa Ganguly is not the sole representative of glamour world in West Bengal BJP. Bollywood singer Babul Supriyo is another well-known face who joined BJP and became an MP and minister of state.
Earlier famous Tollywood celebrities joined Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress in the state. Now, the BJP has been garnering more support in West Bengal. Personalities like Roopa Ganguly and Babul Supriyo's decisions of joining the party strengthened BJP.
