Karnataka CM Directs Police to Maintain Peace Ahead of Ram Temple Consecration
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has directed the police department to be on alert and has slammed BJP state president B Y Vijayendras remark that the Congress government will be responsible for untoward incidents.
In light of the upcoming consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has issued a directive to the state's police department to remain vigilant and maintain law and order. This directive comes in response to recent statements made by BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra, who suggested that the Congress government in Karnataka would be held responsible for any untoward incidents.

Preventive Measures and Public Cooperation
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah emphasized the importance of taking preventive measures to ensure peace and order in the state. He urged citizens not to panic or get agitated upon hearing false news or rumors, but to instead immediately inform the nearest police station. He stressed that taking the law into one's own hands should be avoided under any circumstances.
BJP President's Statement Criticized
Siddaramaiah criticized B.Y. Vijayendra's statement, suggesting that it contained more of a threat and provocation than a genuine intention to maintain peace. He pointed out that while demanding a government holiday on January 22, Vijayendra also called for increased security due to the possibility of untoward incidents that could disrupt societal peace.
Concerns Raised by Congress Leader
Siddaramaiah's statement also acknowledged the concerns raised by Congress leader B.K. Hariprasad, who expressed apprehension about the potential for a Godhra-like situation in Karnataka. In response, the Chief Minister assured that the state government was aware of its responsibilities and that the law would take its course if any untoward incidents occurred.
BJP Legislators' Provocative Statements
The Chief Minister further noted that certain BJP legislators and MPs had been making provocative statements, which added to the challenges of maintaining law and order. He suggested that if the BJP state president took strict action against such individuals, it would ease the government's task of ensuring peace and harmony.
Personal Matters of Faith
Siddaramaiah emphasized that matters of God, religion, worship, and devotion are personal to each individual. He expressed the belief that keeping these matters personal would bring respect to God and religion, as well as contribute to the welfare of society. He stressed that this principle applies to followers of all religions.
As the state prepares for the significant event of the Ram temple consecration in Ayodhya, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's directive to the police department underscores the importance of maintaining peace and order. By urging citizens to remain calm, avoid spreading false news, and cooperate with law enforcement, the government aims to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure a harmonious environment for all.
