Rajnath Singh Criticizes Kejriwal's 'Work from Jail', Highlights Maliwal's Assault
During a recent poll meeting in the national capital, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh delivered a sharp critique of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, highlighting his dissatisfaction with the latter's governance approach, particularly the unusual claim of running the government from incarceration. Singh's comments came amidst a roadshow supporting North West Delhi candidate Yogendra Chandolia, where he confidently predicted a sweeping victory for the BJP-led alliance, anticipating over 400 seats and Narendra Modi's return as Prime Minister for a third consecutive term.

Singh expressed his astonishment and disappointment over Kejriwal's stance, stating, "It has happened for the first time in the history of India that a jailed chief minister has asserted that he will run the government from there." He also criticized Kejriwal for his silence on the alleged assault on AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal, suggesting a lack of accountability and shame on the part of the Delhi Chief Minister.
The Defence Minister did not spare the Congress either, accusing it of contributing little to nation-building and betraying the ideals of leaders like Anna Hazare and Mahatma Gandhi. In contrast, Singh assured that the BJP remains committed to upholding public trust and confidence.
Highlighting the achievements of the Modi government, Singh pointed out India's economic growth, stating that India had become the fifth-largest economy in the world under Modi's leadership since 2014. He projected an optimistic future where India is poised to become the third-largest economy by 2027, emphasizing India's goal to become a superpower driven by the philosophy of 'Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam' - viewing the world as one family.
In the lead-up to the Lok Sabha polls in Delhi, BJP's top leadership, including JP Nadda and Nitin Gadkari, intensified their campaign against the opposition INDIA bloc. The party showcased its confidence in securing a significant victory in the upcoming elections. BJP chiefs supported candidates across Delhi through roadshows, with prominent figures like Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant joining in to bolster support for their candidates.
Sharma criticized Kejriwal for failing to combat corruption and lauded Modi's transformative leadership since 2014. He highlighted India's economic ascent from 11th to 5th position globally under Modi's tenure and expressed confidence in India achieving top economic status in the foreseeable future.
With polling for seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi scheduled for May 25, BJP's concerted efforts reflect its strategic campaign to consolidate support and secure a decisive victory in the national capital.
