Rajasthan CMs Double Delight: Social Security Boost and MSP Bonus for Farmers

Social Security Pension Hike

Recognizing the need for robust social security, Chief Minister Sharma announced an increase in the monthly security pension for widows and elderly individuals. The pension amount will be raised from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,150, benefiting a large number of needy persons in the state. This measure is expected to impose an additional financial burden of Rs 1,800 crore on the state government.

Bonus on Minimum Support Price for Wheat

In a bid to support farmers, the chief minister announced a bonus on the minimum support price (MSP) for wheat. A bonus of Rs 125 will be provided on wheat, leading to an increase in the MSP from Rs 2,275 to Rs 2,400. This move aims to alleviate the financial burden on farmers and encourage agricultural productivity. The government anticipates an additional financial burden of Rs 250 crore due to this initiative.

PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Increased

In line with the central government's PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, Chief Minister Sharma announced an increase in the annual assistance provided to farmers in the state. The amount under the scheme will be enhanced from Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 in the first phase, resulting in an additional financial burden of Rs 1,300 crore on the state.

Housing for Displaced Families from Pakistan

Addressing the concerns of displaced families from Pakistan residing in Rajasthan, the chief minister announced a special scheme to provide them with housing and other essential facilities. This initiative aims to ensure their well-being and integration into the state.

Targeting Previous Government

Chief Minister Sharma also took the opportunity to criticize the previous Congress government for various shortcomings. He highlighted issues such as law and order problems, recruitment exam paper leaks, and appeasement politics. Sharma emphasized that the current BJP government is committed to fulfilling its poll promises, establishing the rule of law, and making Rajasthan a crime-free state.

Addressing Paper Leaks

Expressing concern over the paper leaks that occurred during the previous government's tenure, Sharma asserted that the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) had lost its credibility. He informed the House that the incidents of paper leaks are being investigated by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Rajasthan Police, and if necessary, the cases will be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for further investigation.

Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project

Regarding the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP), the chief minister acknowledged the importance of the project and informed the House about the signing of a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Centre, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh for preparing a Detailed Project Report. He assured the members that the government is committed to the project's implementation.

In conclusion, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma's announcements of social security pension hikes, MSP bonus for farmers, and other welfare measures demonstrate the state government's commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable populations and supporting agricultural growth. By addressing concerns related to law and order, paper leaks, and appeasement politics, the government aims to establish a transparent and accountable administration. The initiatives announced during the assembly session set the tone for the BJP government's agenda and priorities in Rajasthan.
