"Nahi Sahega Rajasthan" Poster: Rajasthan CM Meets Farmer Whose Photo Was Misused By BJP

"Nahi Sahega Rajasthan" campaign poster shows a farmer's photo claiming auction of land of over 19,000 farmers. The actual farmer alleges that his picture was misused by the BJP. CM Gehlot assures action against it and questions the party's integrity.

The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, recently visited a 70-year-old farmer in Jaisalmer whose image was used without his consent on a poster by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The poster is part of the BJP's campaign titled "Nahi Sahega Rajasthan" and has been widely circulated throughout the state.

Controversial Poster Creates Stir

The controversial poster depicts an elderly farmer and alleges that over 19,000 farmers in Rajasthan have had their land auctioned due to failure to repay bank loans. The man featured on this contentious poster is Madhuram Jaipal from Jaisalmer who claims that his image was misused by the BJP for their campaign.

Gehlot's Response to Misuse of Image

In response to this situation, Gehlot assured Jaipal via a video message shared on platform X: "We will get it removed [the] poster. Okay. Don't worry. The BJP has put up the posters... If the BJP has done it dishonestly, they will repent." He further stated that there was no need for concern as he believed that through this act, "The BJP has exposed itself."

Rajasthan Questions Defamation of its Farmers

Following his visit with Jaipal, Gehlot posted an assertive query online asking why the ruling party had chosen to defame local farmers in such a manner. His post read: "Hamare kisan ko kyu kiya badnam? BJP se puch raha hai Rajasthan" which translates into English as 'Rajasthan seeks to know from the BJP as to why it has defamed our farmer.'

Government Schemes Benefit Enquiry

During his meeting with Jaipal, Gehlot also took the opportunity to inquire whether Jaipal was receiving benefits from government schemes provided under inflation relief camps. This indicated his concern for ensuring that farmers are not only protected from defamation but also adequately supported by government initiatives.

In conclusion, this incident has highlighted issues surrounding the misuse of personal images in political campaigns and raised questions about the ethics of such actions. It has led to a public dialogue on the rights of farmers and their portrayal in media narratives. Furthermore, it underscores the need for transparency and accountability in political campaigning. The BJP's use of Jaipal's image without consent has sparked controversy and drawn attention to wider issues around farmer welfare and support systems within Rajasthan.
