Rajasthan Chief Minister Criticises Congress for Prioritising Family Over Nation
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma made a strong statement against the Congress party on Sunday, labeling it as the primary source of corruption in the country and accusing it of prioritizing family interests over national welfare. During a press interaction in Mumbai, Sharma voiced his optimism for the BJP-led NDA's prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, drawing parallels to their sweeping victories in Rajasthan during the 2014 and 2019 elections.

Sharma's confidence extends beyond Rajasthan, as he anticipates significant wins for the BJP in states like West Bengal, Telangana, Odisha, and Maharashtra. He criticized the Congress for its alleged corruption and accused it of engaging in caste politics and promoting regionalism. Sharma specifically pointed out the Congress party's failure to implement its manifesto promises, referencing controversial remarks by Sam Pitroda, former chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress, regarding skin color.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the trust people have in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ability to fulfill promises, contrasting it with the Congress party's focus on familial interests. Discussing Maharashtra's political landscape, Sharma dismissed concerns about potential electoral setbacks for the BJP due to alleged party splits, asserting a confident victory stance for his party.
In Maharashtra, the alliance of BJP with Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and NCP led by Deputy CM Ajit Pawar is set to contest the Lok Sabha election together. Sharma also addressed comments made by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal regarding PM Modi's potential retirement, advising Kejriwal to focus on his party amidst allegations of corruption.
Furthermore, Sharma defended the now-scrapped electoral bonds scheme against opposition criticism, asserting the BJP's commitment to fairness and integrity. With half of Maharashtra's Lok Sabha constituencies having completed voting in the first three phases of elections, anticipation builds for the remaining phases scheduled on May 13 and May 20, including crucial seats in Mumbai.
This bold stance from Rajasthan's Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma underscores a heated political climate as parties gear up for a fiercely contested Lok Sabha election. With accusations flying and alliances forming, the political narrative continues to evolve, reflecting the dynamic nature of India's democratic process.
