Rajasthan Bus Mishap: 12 Killed, 30 Injured in Sikar Flyover Crash

On a tragic Tuesday in Rajasthan's Sikar district, a devastating accident occurred when a private bus, filled with passengers and coming from Salasar, lost control and collided with the wing wall of a flyover in Laxmangarh. The impact was so severe that the right side of the bus was completely crushed, leading to the immediate death of the driver and trapping several passengers inside. To rescue the trapped individuals, authorities had to call in a crane. This incident led to the loss of 12 lives, with around 30 others sustaining injuries. The injured were promptly attended to, with some being referred to Jaipur for further treatment while others received care at SK Hospital in Sikar.

In light of this tragic event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stepped forward to offer financial support to the affected families. He announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of each individual who lost their life. Additionally, those who were injured in the accident are to receive ₹50,000. This gesture of support extends a hand of solidarity to the victims' families during their time of grief.

Reacting to the devastating accident, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma expressed his profound sorrow and extended his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased. Emphasizing the importance of providing proper medical care to the survivors, he assured that officials had been instructed to ensure all injured receive the necessary treatment. The Chief Minister's heartfelt prayers sought divine solace for the departed souls and a swift recovery for the injured.

Echoing the sentiments of sympathy and support, Rajasthan Congress Chief Govind Singh Dotasra conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families. He highlighted the immediate response from local administrative officials to offer urgent medical attention to the injured and extend all possible assistance. Dotasra's message included a prayer for peace for the departed souls and strength for their families to overcome this tragic moment.

The causes behind the accident are under thorough investigation. Inspector General of Police Satyendra Choudhary shared with the news agency ANI that the reasons for the collision are being closely examined to understand what led to this calamity. Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav, Sikar district's Superintendent of Police, noted that the bus was attempting a turn when it struck the flyover's wing wall, implicating speed and control loss as contributing factors to the accident.
