Rajasthan BJP Candidates List 2023: 83 Names Announced, Vasundhara Raje To Contest From Jhalrapatan
The Bharatiya Janata Party (bjp) on Saturday released second list of 83 candidates ahead of Rajasthan Assembly elections 2023.
In its quest for a political resurgence, the BJP has strategically chosen former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje as its candidate for the Jhalarpatan constituency, while Satish Punia is set to contest from Amber. Rajendra Rathod, on the other hand, will represent the party in the Taranagar constituency, and Jyoti Mirdha has been chosen to vie for the Nagaur seat.

Notably, a high-level meeting was convened on Friday, attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, as well as prominent BJP leaders such as BL Santhosh, Pralhad Joshi, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Kailash Chaudhary, Satish Poonia, CP Joshi, Arun Singh, Kuldeep Bishnoi, Rajendra Rathore, along with co-election in-charge Nitin Patel, and co-incharge Vijaya Rahatkar. The primary agenda of this meeting was to finalize the list of potential candidates for the upcoming elections.
The BJP has already released the first list of candidates for the Rajasthan elections, featuring seven Members of Parliament (MPs) among a total of 41 candidates.
In Rajasthan, the upcoming elections are poised to be a direct battle between the Congress and the BJP, with anti-incumbency looming as a critical factor. The state has followed a distinctive pattern of alternating between the Congress and the BJP in power since 1993.
In the previous Assembly elections held in 2018, the Congress secured victories in 99 out of the 199 seats where elections were conducted (with polling in one constituency canceled due to a candidate's demise), while the BJP clinched 73 seats.
The upcoming polls in Rajasthan are scheduled for November 23, with the counting of votes for the 200-seat assembly set to take place on December 3.
