Rains in store for Bengaluru this weekend

Bengalureans may have some respite from soaring temperatures with showers expected in parts of the garden city as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted rains towards the weekend.

According to forecasts by the India Meteorological Department, rains or thunderstorms are likely in Bengaluru over the weekend. The city witnessed the highest maximum temperature this year on April 18 at 36.5 degrees Celsius.

On Wednesday, the maximum temperature in Bengaluru city settled at 36.1 degrees Celsius - a two-degree departure from the normal - while the minimum temperature settled at 23.6 degrees Celsius.

An IMD official said that the temperature in Bengaluru is likely to be above two degrees Celsius on Wednesday and Thursday.

On the other hand, the weather office has forecast thunderstorms in Andhra Pradesh on April 21 and 22, bringing some relief to people from the hot weather.
