Raid only on Karnataka minister Shivakumar, not connected to Gujarat MLAs: IT officials
The Karnataka Investigation Wing of the Income tax department is conducting searches in the case of a Karnataka Minister.
The Director General of Income Tax (Investigation) stated that the raid conducted in Bengaluru was only on Karnataka Energy Minister DK Shivakumar and its not concerned with the Gujarat Congress MLAs staying in Eagleton Golf resort.
Soon after the raid, the Joint Commissioner, DGIT (Investigation), NK Ramesh issued a press release.
The press release reiterated that the search is only on one Karnataka Minister and the search team has not contacted other MLAs.

The Karnataka Investigation Wing of the Income tax department is conducting searches in the case of a Karnataka Minister.
The search is conducted under Section 132 of the Income Tax Act, which is an evidence gathering exercise in compliance with all statutory requirements.
It further said the search is the continuation of an investigation which has been in progress for a considerable period of time.
The timing of the search was decided well in advance. The events involving certain MLAs of another state being brought to Karnataka were unforeseen and unpredictable events.
The minister being searched was staying at a resort near Bangalore where some MLAs from another state are put up. Hence. the Minister's room alone is being searched.
