Rahul Gandhi Commits to Caste Survey, Vows to Abolish Agniveer Scheme

In a recent address to students at Nyay Manch - Ab India Bolega in the national capital, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi outlined a series of measures that the INDIA bloc would implement if elected to power. Central to his discourse was the advocacy for a caste survey and an economic review to determine the distribution of wealth across various communities in India. Gandhi emphasized that this initiative would reveal the economic standing of the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) among others, aiming to rectify disparities in wealth distribution.

Gandhis Pledge: Caste Survey, End Agniveer

Gandhi criticized the current unawareness among 90% of India's population regarding their economic strength and wealth possession. He argued that conducting a caste census alongside an economic survey would unveil the truth about wealth distribution, potentially leading to a shift in political dynamics and demands for equitable shares of wealth. The Congress leader also pledged to abolish the Agniveer scheme, promising compensation for the 1.5 lakh youngsters affected by its implementation.

However, Gandhi's proposals have sparked controversy, drawing criticism from Amit Malviya, the BJP's social media chief. Malviya accused Gandhi of harboring "deeply dangerous and delusional ideas" and questioned the feasibility of his approach to wealth distribution. Despite the backlash, Gandhi remained steadfast in his critique of the current employment system, attributing job scarcity to GST implementation and demonetization.

Gandhi further lambasted the Agniveer scheme, alleging it was devised without consulting the Army or considering its implications on soldiers' entitlements. He claimed that while common people struggled without loan waivers, substantial financial relief was extended to major industrialists.

The Congress leader also highlighted plans to introduce the Right to Apprenticeship scheme, guaranteeing jobs and a minimum income for graduates and diploma holders. Additionally, he proposed financial support for the country's poorest women, underscoring a commitment to addressing economic inequalities.

The discourse around these proposed policies underscores a significant divide in political strategies concerning wealth distribution, employment creation, and military recruitment policies. As India gears up for future electoral contests, these issues are poised to play a pivotal role in shaping political narratives and voter preferences.
