Rahul Gandhi on Modi’s China Visit: 'Even China, US Say Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhodd'

Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to China. He remarked that the slogan "Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhodh" has gained traction beyond India, reaching Beijing as well. "Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod, Bihar mein naya naara chala hai (There is a new slogan in Bihar), 'Vote chor, gaddi chhodd'...Even in China and the US, people are saying 'Vote chor, gaddi Chhodd'" Rahul Gandhi told ANI.

The 16-day Voter Adhikar Yatra concluded in Patna on Monday under Rahul Gandhi's leadership. The yatra aimed to challenge the Special Intensive Revision by the Election Commission of India (ECI) in Bihar and address allegations of "vote chori" made by Rahul against ECI. The rally began on August 18 with Rahul and Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav riding together in Sasaram.

Focus on Alleged Vote Theft

During the conclusion of the Voter Adhikar Yatra, Rahul Gandhi announced plans to reveal significant information about the SIR exercise in Bihar. He stated, "I am warning them, the people of BJP better hear this well. You have all seen the Atom bomb on the Vote theft, now you will see the Hydrogen Bomb on this." His remarks highlighted his intent to expose alleged irregularities.

The yatra spanned across 25 districts including Aurangabad, Gayaji, and Siwan. It was organised to spotlight alleged voter list discrepancies by ECI and vote theft accusations against BJP. Multiple leaders from the INDIA bloc participated at different stages. Notable attendees included Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya.

Constitutional Concerns Raised

Rahul Gandhi expressed concerns about threats to India's Constitution during his speech. He said, "The same forces that assassinated Mahatma Gandhi are now trying to assassinate the Constitution. We will not let them assassinate the Constitution, no matter what happens." His comments underscored his commitment to safeguarding democratic principles.

Bihar's role as a significant state was emphasised by Rahul Gandhi during his address. He noted that Bihar has sent a strong message nationwide against 'vote theft.' The rally aimed to mobilise public opinion against perceived electoral malpractices and reinforce democratic values.

The rally saw participation from various political figures including Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. Their involvement highlighted cross-party support for addressing electoral issues raised during the yatra.
