Rahul Gandhi Mentions Aishwarya Rai Bachchan And Big B At Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Targets PM Modi

In an address delivered as his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra arrived in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday directed criticism toward Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Ram Temple consecration ceremony held the previous month, mentioning Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan and his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Gandhi asserted that individuals who held sway over the nation were excluded from the temple event while Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were in attendance. He claimed that no faces from the OBC or ST/SC communities were invited to the grand occasion.

Rahul Gandhi Mentions Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

"The 'Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha' event you witnessed, did you observe the presence of any OBC or ST/SC faces? It was attended by Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Bachchan, and PM Narendra Modi, but the individuals who truly wield power in the country were absent. These individuals aim to ensure that you are unable to wield control over the country," he conveyed, according to PTI.

The Ram Temple consecration ceremony, which was led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, saw the attendance of numerous celebrities, politicians, and dignitaries. However, the Opposition chose to abstain from the event, alleging that the BJP was attempting to score political advantages, as reported by ANI.

Rahul Gandhi's yatra reached the historical city at 4 pm on Sunday. He was accompanied by UP Congress president Ajay Rai and other senior leaders. Gandhi is scheduled to visit his former constituency Amethi on Monday, a seat he lost to BJP's Smriti Irani. Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will also be accompanying Rahul in Amethi, as confirmed by the party.

"All arrangements for Rahul Gandhi's 'Bharat Jodo Naya Yatra' have been finalized. Rahul Gandhi will be greeted first in Kakwa. His Nyay Yatra will enter Amethi's border from the Rampur Khas assembly constituency of Pratapgarh district," stated Anil Singh, media coordinator of Congress' Amethi district unit.

In response to his yatra, UP minister Daya Shankar Singh remarked that the Congress had acknowledged defeat in UP. "Rahul Gandhi no longer holds significance in Uttar Pradesh. Sonia Gandhi had the Raebareli seat, but she vacated it to join the Rajya Sabha. Hence, it appears they have conceded defeat even before the (2024 Lok Sabha) elections," he remarked.
