Rahul Gandhi Keeps Raebareli Seat, Priyanka Gandhi To Contest From Wayanad
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, who won Lok Sabha Election 2024 from two seats (Raebareli and Wayanad), on Monday announced that he will keep Uttar Pradesh's Raebareli and vacate Kerala's Wayanad seat for his sister Priyanka Gandhi.
According to the Election Commission's law, an elected member of parliament, if wins from two or more seats, has to decide the seat he or she will be representing in the house within 14 days.

The big announcement was made by Congress chief Malliakarjun Kharge, in the presence of Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and senior leader KC Venugopal.
"The party has decided that Rahul Gandhi should keep the Raebareli seat because it has been close to him and his family for generations. The people of the constituency and people in the Congress feel this will be good for the party as well. More importantly, he has received love from the people of Wayanad and people there want him to retain the seat. But the rules don't allow this. So we have decided that Priyanka ji will contest from Wayanad," Kharge said in Hindi.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who earlier denied contesting elections, will now finally make her electoral debut from Wayanad which is a safe seat for Congress.
Rahul Gandhi registered massive victories in both the constituencies, Raebareli and Wayanad.
In Wayanad, Congress leader secured 6,47,445 votes against CPI's Anie Raja who got 2,83,023 votes. The margin of victory was 3,64, 422 votes.
