Air Pollution: A National Emergency

Rahul Gandhi has declared air pollution in North India a national emergency. He urged Members of Parliament to unite during the upcoming Winter Session to discuss solutions for ending this crisis permanently. Gandhi emphasised that addressing air pollution requires a collective national effort rather than political blame games.

In a video shared on X, Gandhi discussed the air pollution issue with environmentalist Vimlendu Jha at India Gate. In his post accompanying the video, he described air pollution in North India as a national emergency, highlighting its impact on children’s futures and its detrimental effects on the elderly. He also called it an environmental and economic disaster affecting countless lives.

The delegation's meeting with Gandhi aimed to bring attention to the worsening air quality and its implications for public health. They proposed actionable solutions to mitigate the crisis, highlighting the urgency of implementing these measures promptly.

Gandhi's commitment to raising this issue in Parliament reflects his concern for addressing air pollution as a pressing national problem. By advocating for immediate action, he aims to mobilise support from fellow MPs to tackle this critical challenge effectively.
