Rabri Devi plays proxy for Lalu, to contest from Chapra in LS polls

After Lalu's return now and the assurances of the party to form a coalition with the Congress, Rabri Devi is being fielded yet again from Lalu's seat Chhapra (Saran) for the Lok Sabha polls in 2014. Barred from elections for 11 years, Lalu considers this as "blessing in disguise".
She served as the chief minister of Bihar from 1997 to 2005.
Sources close to the party have, however said, that the competition is going to be tough this time with a battle between RJ(D), BJP and JD(U). The source further adds that the party had been interested to field some strong candidates from the family for the Saran and the Pataliputra seats. It is to be noted that Lalu had once lost the Pataliputra seat to his close friend and JD(U) candidate Ranjan Yadav. In fact, both the seats have a sizeable Yadav community.
Rabri is currently the member of the Bihar Legislative Council who had been attending a series of public meetings to maintain a high possibility of the party's victory at the elections.
