Punjab Police Officers Honored for Eliminating Sidhu Moosewalas Killers
Deputy Superintendent of Punjab Police Bikramjit Singh Brar and four team members have been awarded the Presidents gallantry medals for eliminating the shooters involved in the murder of singer Sidhu Moosewala in 2022.
On the eve of India's 75th Republic Day, Deputy Superintendent of Punjab Police Bikramjit Singh Brar and four members of his team were recognized for their bravery in eliminating two shooters involved in the murder of renowned singer Sidhu Moosewala in 2022. The officers were bestowed with the prestigious President's Gallantry Medals for their heroic actions.

Neutralizing Notorious Gangsters
The two notorious gangsters, Manpreet Singh alias Mannu and Jagroop Singh alias Roopa, were successfully neutralized in Amritsar on July 20, 2022, following a meticulous operation led by DSP Brar. Their elimination brought a sense of relief to the nation, which had been deeply affected by the tragic loss of Sidhu Moosewala in May 2022.
Recognizing the Team's Efforts
In addition to DSP Brar, four other police officers who played crucial roles in the operation were also honored with the President's Gallantry Medals. Sub-Inspector Rahul Sharma, Assistant Sub-Inspectors Jagjit Singh and Baljinder Singh, and Head Constable Surinderpal Singh were recognized for their bravery and dedication to duty.
Additional Prestigious Awards
The President's Medal for Distinguished Service was awarded to two senior IPS officers, Promod Ban, chief of the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), and Assistant Inspector General Intelligence Swarandeep Singh, for their exceptional contributions to law enforcement.
Honoring Gallantry and Sacrifice
DSP Dalbir Singh, ASI Malkeet Singh, and the late Senior Constable Mandeep Singh were posthumously awarded gallantry medals for their unwavering commitment to duty. Their sacrifices serve as a reminder of the risks and challenges faced by law enforcement officers in their pursuit of justice.
Meritorious Service and Outstanding Devotion
Sixteen officials, including Deputy Commissioner of Police Jalandhar Harvinder Singh Virk, Joint Director Complaint Cell Vigilance Bureau Digvijay Kapil, DSP Mansa Kuldeep Singh, and DSP Gurjitpal Singh, were selected for the Medal for Meritorious Service in recognition of their outstanding contributions to law enforcement.
Furthermore, fourteen officers, including Jalandhar Rural Senior SP Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar, Commandant Jalandhar Mandeep Singh, and DSP SAS Nagar Gursher Singh, were honored with the Chief Minister's Medal for their exceptional devotion to duty.

National Recognition of Bravery
On the eve of the 75th Republic Day, President Droupadi Murmu approved a total of 80 gallantry awards, including six Kirti Chakra and 16 Shaurya Chakra, to honor the exceptional bravery and sacrifice of individuals across the nation.
