Punjab Law College Horror: Student Shoots Female Friend Inside Class, Then Shoots Himself; CCTV Footage Out

A shocking incident unfolded inside a law college in Punjab's Tarn Taran district on Monday morning when a first-year student allegedly shot his female classmate inside a classroom before turning the gun on himself.

The tragic episode, captured on CCTV, took place just moments before the start of a lecture, leaving students and staff in deep shock.

The incident occurred at a reputed law college in Usma village. Both the accused and the victim were first-year law students at the institution.

Tragedy unfolds inside classroom

The deceased have been identified as Sandeep Kaur, a resident of Naushera Pannuan, and Prince Raj from Mallian village. According to preliminary police reports and CCTV footage, Prince Raj entered the classroom with a bag on his back shortly before the class began.

Eyewitness accounts suggest that he approached Sandeep and another classmate and spoke with them briefly. The three then moved to seats at the back of the classroom and continued their conversation.

Moments later, CCTV footage reportedly shows Prince Raj standing up, taking a gun out of his bag and suddenly firing at Sandeep from close range. As she collapsed, another student nearby was seen recoiling in shock. Within seconds, Prince Raj allegedly used the same weapon to shoot himself and fell to the ground.

The sound of gunfire caused panic across the campus, with students and staff rushing out of classrooms in fear. Sandeep Kaur was declared dead at the scene. Prince Raj was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries.

Police begin detailed investigation

Senior police officials, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Jagbir Singh, reached the college soon after the incident was reported. An FIR has been registered and both bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination at a civil hospital.

A forensic team inspected the classroom and recovered the weapon along with empty cartridges from the spot. Officials are closely examining CCTV footage from the campus to understand the exact sequence of events.

Police have said that the motive behind the shooting is still unclear. Investigators are looking into all possible angles, including personal and social factors, to determine what led to the incident. Initial information suggests that the two students knew each other, but further details are awaited.
