Punjab Gears Up for Grand 350th Martyrdom Day Commemoration at Sri Anandpur Sahib

Sri Anandpur Sahib is set to host one of the most spiritually significant and culturally rich events of the year, as Punjab prepares to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji and Bhai Dayala Ji. The Punjab Government has announced a special three-day programme from November 23 to 25, which has generated immense excitement and reverence among people across the state.

The commemorative event will begin on November 23 with a deeply spiritual start. Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal will be present as the Akhand Path commences, symbolising the core Sikh values of devotion, humility and service. Following this, an exhibition on the life of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji will be inaugurated, designed especially to help young people understand the Guru's supreme sacrifice for the protection of faith, human rights and universal values.

At 11 am on the same day, a Sarv Dharam (Interfaith) Conference will bring together representatives of various religions, communities and ideologies. The conference aims to highlight the universal message of Sikh history-standing for truth, protecting the weak and upholding respect for every faith. Officials say the conference underlines that Sikh history is not limited to one community, but belongs to the entire world as a message of humanity and courage.

In the evening, visitors will be taken on a guided tour of Virasat-e-Khalsa and other important historical monuments in Anandpur Sahib, giving them a chance to reconnect with Punjab's rich heritage. After sunset, a grand drone show will illuminate the night sky, depicting the sacrifices of the Sikh Gurus, the legacy of the Khalsa Panth and Punjab's cultural pride through stunning light formations.

The three-day event is expected to create an atmosphere filled with katha, kirtan, devotion, community service and spiritual reflection. Organisers say every visitor will leave with a renewed sense of respect and gratitude for the Sikh Gurus' immense sacrifices.
