Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann Launches Education Revolution To Empower Youth As Job Creators

Punjab's Chief Minister, Bhagwant Singh Mann, has expressed a commitment to enhancing the future of the state's youth. He aims to transform them from job seekers into job creators. During an interaction with students at Shaheed Subedar Mewa Singh School of Eminence, Mann highlighted the onset of a new educational revolution in Punjab. This initiative is designed to prepare students for future challenges and help them achieve new heights in life.

The government is taking significant steps to provide employment opportunities and channel the boundless energy of young people in the right direction. Mann likened the government's role to that of runways at airports, which assist planes in taking off. Similarly, the state is helping young individuals realise their dreams. In 2022, Punjab initiated an "education revolution" to turn children's aspirations into reality.

Focus on Education and Employment

Mann lamented that outdated policies had previously deprived underprivileged children of their right to education. The revolutionary measures taken by the state government in education have been widely appreciated across India. A total of 118 Schools of Eminence are being established, with an investment of ₹231.74 crore so far. These schools are seen as a crucial step towards securing a bright future for disadvantaged children.

Students attending these schools receive free uniforms, and a special bus service for girls ensures no girl misses out on education. Mann hopes these institutions will become "modern temples" that illuminate thousands of lives with quality education. He proudly noted that even private school students are now enrolling in these Schools of Eminence, proving the model's success.

Achievements and Initiatives

Special coaching is provided for competitive exams like NEET, JEE, CLAT, and NIFT alongside preparation for armed forces recruitment. It is noteworthy that 265 students from Schools of Eminence and other government schools cleared JEE Mains, 44 qualified for JEE Advanced, and 848 succeeded in NEET.

A "School Mentorship Programme" has also been launched where senior officials guide government school students. Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) introduced in government schools have received overwhelming support. Punjab boasts 19,200 government schools with around 25 lakh parents participating in PTMs.

Bridging Educational Gaps

Mann confirmed that the state government is making concerted efforts to bridge the gap between public and private schools regarding quality education. This initiative aims to ensure equitable access to high-standard education for all children across Punjab.

The Chief Minister's vision reflects a broader strategy to empower youth through education and employment opportunities, fostering a generation capable of contributing significantly to society's growth and development.
