Punjab: AAP MLA From Kharar Anmol Gagan Maan Resigns

AAP MLA Anmol Gagan Maan has resigned as the legislature from the Punjab Assembly. She was elected from Kharar in the 2022 Punjab assembly elections and briefly served as a minister in the Bhagwant Mann-led cabinet.

Maan submitted her resignation to Kultar Singh Sandhwan, the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly. Expressing her feelings on X (formerly Twitter), she wrote in Punjabi about her decision to leave politics. "My heart is heavy, but I have decided to leave politics. My resignation from the post of MLA to the Speaker should be accepted," she stated.

Before venturing into politics, Anmol Gagan Maan was well-known in the Punjabi music industry. She gained popularity with songs like Suit, Ghaint Purpose, and Sherni. Her transition from music to politics marked a significant shift in her career path.

Despite stepping down, Maan expressed goodwill towards her party and its future endeavours. "My best wishes are with the party. I hope the Punjab government will live up to the expectations of the people," she added in her statement.
