Proud Moment: PM Modi Tells Cabinet Colleagues On Operation Sindoor To Avenge Pahalgam Attack

In a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told his colleagues that it is a proud moment for the nation as Indian armed forces carried out an attack targeting terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), India Today reported, citing sources.

What PM Modi Said?

The PM praised the armed forces for the 24 missile strikes across nine locations to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack. 70 terrorists have been killed in the attack, according to a report in NDTV.

"It was a statement of strategic resolve. Through 24 precisely coordinated missile strikes across nine terrorist-linked locations, India demonstrated that it would no longer tolerate cross-border terrorism, nor the complicity of state institutions that enable it," NDTV quoted a source as saying.

In the wee hours of Wednesday, India launched the attack bases in Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Bahawalpur, Rawalakot, Chakswari, Bhimber, Neelum Valley, Jhelum, and Chakwal.

In the meeting, the Prime Minister claimed that it was a "perfect strike by the armed forces" and explained to his cabinet colleagues about how the strikes were conducted deep inside Pakistan as well as the PoK.

"Hum sab ke liye garv ka pal hai (this is a moment of pride for all of us)," News18 quoted PM Modi as telling ministers. On their turn, the minister hailed the Prime Minister's leadership for handling the situation during the tough phase.

The Prime Minister has informed the cabinet ministers that he will meet President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan today to brief her about the developments.

April 22 Attack

On April 22, a terror attack killed 26 civilians, which is considered to be the worst attack since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.

PM Modi had vowed to trace every terrorist and the backers involved in the Pahalgam terror attack and punish them. He had said that justice would be given to the victims. He said that the terrorists will not be spared and will get a punishment bigger than they can imagine.
