Protests Erupt in Uttar Pradesh Over Reports of Hindu Persecution in Bangladesh

On Tuesday, protests erupted across Uttar Pradesh as Hindu groups and individuals voiced their anger over reports of violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. Demonstrations took place in several districts, including Aligarh, Ayodhya, Banda, Chitrakoot, and Etah. Protesters demanded both government intervention and international action to address the situation.

Uttar Pradesh Protests Against Hindu Persecution

In Aligarh, a sit-in was organised by Hindu organisations at the Gandhi Park bus stand. The Bangladesh Alpsankhyank Sangh led the protest, which concluded with a memorandum submission to the district magistrate. This document, addressed to the President of India, urged India to pressure Bangladesh into halting attacks on Hindus and their places of worship.

Demands for International Involvement

The memorandum also called for the Indian government to engage international humanitarian organisations in resolving the issue. In Ayodhya, a public rally was held by RSS, BJP, and Vishva Hindu Parishad members. Participants, including women, marched from Gulab Bari to Gandhi Park to express their outrage.

Champat Rai, general secretary of the Ram Temple Trust, stated, "India has always supported Bangladesh, from its formation to ensuring its stability. Yet, the Bangladeshi government has failed to protect the Hindu community." He urged peace-loving nations worldwide to pressure Bangladeshi authorities into addressing these injustices.

Widespread Protests Across Districts

In Banda and Chitrakoot districts, protests led by Hindu organisations like Bajrang Dal and Vishva Hindu Parishad attracted large crowds. BJP leaders also participated in these demonstrations. The protesters emphasised the need for immediate action to safeguard minority communities in Bangladesh.

Rai highlighted that while Indians often move past their troubles due to their faith, the severity of these incidents cannot be overlooked. "Condemnation is the first step," he added, "but the Bangladeshi government must ensure justice and security for its minority communities."

The protests across Uttar Pradesh reflect growing concerns over the safety of Hindus in Bangladesh. Demonstrators are calling for both national and international efforts to ensure justice and protection for affected communities.
