Actress Shweta Basu and Prostitution Racket: Arrested businessmen bribed policemen?

Hyderabad, Sept 12: Shweta Basu Prasad has become an infamous name in every household now-a-days. She has been arrested in connection with a

racket. But where are her clients who were arrested along with her? Who are they?

Police have been maintaining complete silence whenever they have been asked to reveal names of Shweta's clients who were reported to be high profile business tycoons from across the country.

Citing police reaction, many suspected that the arrested businessmen might have used their power and might have bribed the policemen. However, there were no confirmed reports about any involvement of corrupt officer(s) in the case so far.

Police have not revealed names of arrested businessmen in Shweta Basu case

23-year-old Shweta along with many other high profile businessmen was arrested from a star hotel at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad.

The actress, after her arrest, claimed that many more heroines are into prostitution and it is very common for them. Shweta was also quoted as saying, "All the doors were closed and some people encouraged me to get into prostitution to earn money. I was helpless and with no option left to choose, I got involved in this act."

Shweta had won national award for her Bollywood movie Makdee. She had also acted in several Hindi movies and TV serials, such as -- Iqbal, Kahani Ghar Ghari Ki, Karishma Ka Karishma and many more.
