Investigation Launched into Financial Irregularities and Waqf Land Encroachment at Dargah in Chandausi
The district administration has initiated an investigation into alleged financial misconduct and land encroachment involving a dargah, officials announced on Saturday. The inquiry will not only scrutinise financial discrepancies but also verify if the land, claimed to be Waqf property, was indeed so.

According to Javed, the complainant, the dargah of Dada Mouazmiya Shah is situated on Waqf land in Janeta village panchayat, Baniyakheda development block, Chandausi. He alleges that Shahid Mian is illegally occupying this land and running an unauthorised medical clinic there.
Focus on Financial Transactions
Chandausi Tehsildar Dhirendra Pratap Singh stated that the property is not listed as Waqf land in revenue records. The investigation will now concentrate on financial dealings related to the dargah since 2019. Singh mentioned they have previously received complaints about the dargah in Janeta.
The complaint further claims that since 2019, the Waqf land has lacked a mutawalli caretaker and remains vacant. However, Shahid allegedly earns significant income from the annual Urs festival held at the dargah.
Document Verification Underway
District Magistrate Rajender Pensiya has ordered Shahid Mian to submit relevant documents concerning the dargah. Some documents have already been provided by Shahid. Further actions will depend on a detailed review of these documents.
The tehsildar emphasised that the absence of Waqf registration in revenue records raises questions about its claim as Waqf land. This aspect will be a crucial part of the ongoing investigation.
