Private Security Guards in Faridabad Arrested After Beating Man to Death Mistaken for Thief

In Faridabad's Sector-10, two security guards allegedly killed a man with sticks, suspecting him to be a thief in the Rajasthan Seva Sadan area. The guards were arrested and confessed to the police that they acted on this belief, officials reported on Monday.

The guards, identified as Chaman and Vijay Kumar, were apprehended on Sunday. They were presented in a city court and subsequently placed in police custody for two days. The victim's brother, Abhishek, lodged a complaint with the police regarding the incident.

Complaint Details and Investigation

Abhishek stated that his father and brother were employed as cleaners at Rajasthan Seva Sadan. On July 6, he discovered his brother Vikas's body on the road near the same location. He later learned that Vikas had been beaten to death by the two guards working in Sector-10.

A case was filed at Sector 8 police station based on Abhishek's complaint. The charges included murder under relevant sections of the law. The investigation is ongoing as authorities gather more information about the incident.

Accused Guards' Confession

During questioning, the accused admitted their roles as security personnel in Sector 10. A Faridabad police spokesperson revealed that on July 5, they noticed a young man in the vicinity. Mistaking him for a thief, they attacked him with sticks, resulting in his death.

The police are continuing their interrogation of the suspects while they remain in custody. Authorities are working to piece together all aspects of the case to ensure justice is served.

The tragic event has raised concerns about security measures and vigilantism in the area. It highlights the need for proper training and protocols for security personnel to prevent such incidents in the future.
