Delhi Directorate of Education Issues Guidelines to Prevent Illegal Bangladeshi Migrants' Enrolment in Schools

The Directorate of Education in Delhi has mandated schools to implement a stringent document verification process during admissions. This measure aims to prevent the enrolment of illegal Bangladeshi migrants. Schools are instructed to scrutinise student documentation thoroughly to detect and prevent unauthorised admissions.

Guidelines to Prevent Illegal Migrant Enrolment

Heads of government, government-aided, and private schools have been directed to consult local police and revenue authorities if they suspect any irregularities. The directive emphasises the importance of verifying all necessary documents when enrolling migrant children.

Focus on Document Verification

The Directorate has tasked district education offices with submitting weekly reports on such cases to the school branch headquarters. This ensures that the process is monitored closely and any issues are addressed promptly.

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi accused BJP members of facilitating the entry of Rohingyas into Delhi from Bangladesh. She claimed they are being provided with EWS flats and facilities meant for Delhi residents. "The Delhi government's education department issued strict orders that no Rohingya should be admitted to Delhi's government schools," she stated on X.

Political Reactions

Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal expressed his stance on X, saying, "We will not allow the BJP to settle Rohingyas in Delhi under any circumstances." He stressed that the rights and resources of Delhi's poor should not be allocated to the Rohingyas.

The Aam Aadmi Party's Delhi government is committed to ensuring that the rights of local residents are protected. They are taking measures to prevent any unauthorised allocation of resources or facilities to non-residents.

This initiative highlights the ongoing political tension surrounding immigration issues in Delhi. The focus remains on maintaining fairness and legality in resource distribution among residents.
