Telangana Pre Poll Survey: Hung Assembly, BRS Likely To Win 43-55 Seats, Predicts ABP-CVoter Opinion Poll

As the Telangana Assembly election 2023 is slated to be held in single phase on November 30, the ABVP-CVoter Pre-Poll Survey for Telangana predicted a hung assembly between Congress and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).

According to the latest ABP-CVoter survey, out of the total 119 seats, K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) led-BRS will likely win 43 to 55 seats. Congress, on the other hand, is expected to win 48 to 60 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), despite having fielded its senior leaders to campaign in the state, is likely to remain limited to 5 to 11 seats. The party that secures 60 seats can make a majority government.

Pre Poll Survey Telanagana: Hung Assembly, BRS Likely To Win 43-55 Seats, Predicts ABP-CVoter Opinion Poll

According to the CVoter opinion poll, if the predictions were to materialize, the Congress would capture approximately 39 percent of the vote share in the state. Following closely behind, the BRS is expected to attain a 37 percent vote share, signifying a decline of 9.4 percent from the prior elections. Meanwhile, the BJP is projected to secure 16 percent of the votes, reflecting a substantial increase of 9.3 percent in its vote share, as indicated by the CVoter survey.

As the upcoming Assembly elections in Telangana approach, three prominent contenders are vying for influence. The incumbent BRS seeks to clinch another term, while the Congress endeavors to thwart KCR's bid for a third consecutive chief ministerial tenure. For the BJP, the Telangana elections represent an opportunity to fortify its presence and influence in Southern India, strategically positioning itself for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

In the 2018 Assembly elections, the BRS (then TRS - Telangana Rashtra Samithi) emerged triumphant, securing 88 out of 119 seats and forming the government as the single largest party in the state. In contrast, the Congress managed to secure only 19 seats, placing a considerable distance behind the BRS. The BJP's performance, in stark contrast, was lackluster, as the party could only claim victory in one out of the 117 seats it contested.
