A Gorakhpur-bound Vande Bharat Express from Prayagraj made an unscheduled stop at Raebareli station after an elderly passenger fell ill, as reported by railway officials. The woman received immediate medical attention from the railway's medical team due to her worsening condition.
Passenger's Health Scare
According to a report in ETV BHarat, 65-year-old Sujata was seated on seat number 23 in coach number-4 when she suddenly felt unwell and fainted, according to fellow passengers. Upon receiving the information, the medical team promptly arrived and administered medication after examining her.

The report claims that the train halted for approximately eight minutes at Raebareli station. Once Sujata's health improved, the train continued its journey towards Gorakhpur. Station superintendent Ravi Ranjan confirmed that the train resumed its journey after the brief stop at 4:56 pm on Wednesday.
Technical Snag Causes Delay
However, another train experienced a two-hour delay at Bachhrawan station in the Lucknow-Raebareli section due to a technical issue on Wednesday. Smoke and sparks were observed coming from the wheels of the Sangam Special train traveling from Lucknow to Prayagraj.
Upon investigation, it was discovered that the brakes of one of the train's wheels had jammed. Urgent repairs were carried out, allowing the train to depart at 8:10 am. Vinod Kumar, Bachhrawan station superintendent, stated that Siraj Nagar station had alerted them about sparks and smoke as soon as the Sangam Special approached.
Kumbh Mela Significance
However, Praygraj is witnessing the world's biggest religious gathering in the form of Kumbh Mela.
Kumbh Mela is a significant Hindu pilgrimage celebrated every few years based on Brihaspati's revolution cycles. It attracts massive gatherings of Hindus and is held at four riverside sites: Prayagraj, Haridwar, Nashik, and Ujjain.
Information about the incident was relayed to Raebareli station, leading to a team being dispatched for inspection. After two hours of effort, they resolved the issue, allowing the train to proceed to its destination," Kumar added.
The Kumbh Mela is renowned for drawing large crowds and is considered one of Earth's largest human gatherings. It takes place at key confluences of sacred rivers across India and holds immense religious significance for Hindus worldwide.
