Pratibha Pawar and Revati Sule Stopped from Entering Baramati Hi-Tech Textile Park Amid Poll Campaign

On the final day of campaigning for the Maharashtra elections, an incident involving Pratibha Pawar and Revati Sule at Baramati Hi-Tech Textile Park became a talking point. A video from Supriya Sule's office showed aides requesting entry for shopping, but a guard, following Anil Wagh's instructions, denied access. This incident was highlighted in rallies on Monday.

Entry Denied to Pratibha Pawar and Revati Sule

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's wife, Sunetra Pawar, chairs the Baramati Hi-Tech Textiles Park. Despite the incident, Ajit Pawar dismissed it as unnecessary for sympathy. "I was campaigning outside when I heard about it. Whatever happened yesterday at the textile park has pained me," he stated.

Baramati Textile Park Controversy

Baramati MP Supriya Sule addressed the issue during a rally supporting NCP SP candidate Yugendra Pawar. She remarked, "You people are big and you are in power and currently holding the position there." Sule noted that her father, Sharad Pawar, was instrumental in establishing the park when he was a minister.

Sule highlighted employment concerns at the park, stating that only 2,000 women work there now compared to 6,000 previously. She plans to question this in Parliament since the Government of India set up the park. "Some 50 per cent units are closed," she added.

Ajit Pawar's Response

Ajit Pawar expressed his disappointment over the incident but urged against using it for sympathy. He said, "Kaki Pratibha Pawar is like a mother to me." He also mentioned that if someone contests against him, they have the right to campaign without resorting to such tactics.

Anil Wagh, the park's chief manager, informed Ajit Pawar that he would have welcomed Pratibha Pawar with flowers had he known of her visit. Ajit emphasised that people of Baramati are wise and can see through attempts to gain sympathy.

The incident has added tension to an already heated election campaign in Maharashtra. Both sides continue to rally support as voters prepare to cast their ballots. The focus remains on addressing employment issues and ensuring fair treatment for all involved.
