Pranab Mukherjee's Daughter Sharmistha Mukherjee Reacts On Arvind Kejriwal's Arrest, Says Karma Hits Back

Reacting to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Krjriwal's arrest in connection to the Delhi liquor policy case, former President Pranab Mukherjee's daughter Sharmistha Mukherjee said 'Karma catches up!' Hitting out at AAP chief Sharmistha said Arvind Kejriwal and supporters of Anna Hazare made irresponsible, baseless allegations against then Delhi Chief Minister and Congress leader Sheila Dikshit, and now he has to face the same.

At that time, Kejriwal claimed that he had trunk loads of evidence against corruption, but no evidence ever came to light, she added.

Taking it to X, formerly Twitter, Sharmistha said, "He & Anna Hazare gang were responsible for making most irresponsible, baseless & wild allegations against Congress including Sheila Dikshit ji saying he had 'trunk loads' of evidence against her. No one has seen the 'trunk' so far. Karma catches up!"

On the other hand, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi have extended their support to Delhi CM and INDIA Bloc partner Arvind Kejriwal. Reports said Rahul Gandhi may also meet family members of Arvind Kejriwal to offer legal support.

While Priyanka Gandhi called Kejriwal's arrest completely wrong and unconstitutional. She alleged that the arrest was made in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024 as BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are scared of the INDIA bloc.

On the other hand, BJP said the Enforcement Directorate has arrested a man who made illegal transactions worth crores and is corrupt.

BJP National Secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa said"These people have lost all shame. Experts of lying are questioning the BJP today. The people who made transactions worth crores are saying that the BJP is corrupt... I am surprised by the dedication of their (AAP) workers that they are raising slogans in support of such a corrupt man.
