'Poora udd gaya...' Video captures moment Naxals blew up police vehicle

A day after the deadly Naxal attack in Dantewada left 10 District Reserve Guard (DRG) personnel dead, news agency ANI has released a video capturing the moment Maoists blew up police vehicle using an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

The video shows a policeman crawling to the side of the road right after the blast followed by sounds of firing.

In the background, a man can be heard saying "ud gaya, pura ud gaya" - meaning blown off, completely blown off.

Ten police officers and a driver were killed after Naxalites blew up on Wednesday when a pressure improvised explosive device (IED) planted by Naxalites went off in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district. The incident took place near Aranpur district during an anti-naxal operation that was launched after intelligence inputs.

Visuals from the spot showed a huge crater splitting the road wide open, almost 10-feet deep. The MUV was completely destroyed in the blast.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the Naxals used bomb that weighed 50 kilograms to blow up the police vehicle. The explosion was so powerful in nature that trees were uprooted and a massive hole was left on the road.

Reports also said that the Dantewada attack was well prepared and they have closely studied the movements of the security team and executed the plan with local intelligence network.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel paid homage to the personnel who died in the Naxal attack lent his shoulder to carry a coffin carrying the mortal remains ofthe jawans.

This was the biggest strike by Naxalites on security forces in the state since 2017. 17 security personnel of the Chhattisgarh police, including 12 from the District Reserve Guards and five others from the STF, killed in a similar ambush in Sukma.
